Strengthened Standards - AQTF 2010
The recent COAG meeting also saw the endorsement of new AQTF 2010 Standards. These include important changes that strengthen the AQTF and ensure regulators have the tools they need to protect the interests of students undertaking vocational education and training in Australia. The changes include a set of new standards for organisations applying for RTO registration for the first time.
These changes will come into effect from March 2010. Over the next few months a review of the guidelines that support the standards will take place. The AQTF National Guidelines for Risk Management and the National Guidelines for Managing Non- Compliance will be updated.
In early February, NARA will host a workshop for the NARA Auditors to discuss the AQTF 2010 Standards and work towards a consistent approach to interpretation and implementation.
