To develop a new competency based recognition system for the geoscience field that provides career pathways within the VET sector and meets industry requirements.

- May 2010 - Draft New Units of Competency
- July 2010 - Draft qualifications
- Jan 2011 - Submit for Endorsement
Where to From Here?
The Project Steering Committee has been established and the first project steering committee meeting was held in Adelaide on 1st February 2010. SkillsDMC is now conducting a functional analysis for the geoscience occupations identified. Organisations and individuals with expertise in this field are invited to submit position descriptions and / or descriptions of the tasks undertaken by employees working in geoscience roles that do not require a Degree or post graduate qualifications.
