Workforce Planning

While many organisations conduct workforce planning exercises, the data compiled in the exercise should relate to the existing workforce and possible/probable changes over the next 12 to 24 months directly responsive to business needs.

In these days of evidence based decision making, the need for good empirical data is part and parcel of good management of resources. While no one can predict the future, the importance of having a plan provides the opportunity to make calculated changes in line with business needs.

In response to industry stakeholder requests, SkillsDMC has (in consultation with industry subject matter experts) developed a software package, Future Workforce Manager, to assist organisations with their workforce planning arrangements.

A feature of the Future Workforce Manager is for organisations to populate the program with their own business data and the IT system will calculate the required labour force requirements.

Due to the rapid rate of change and the need to have skilled personnel in the right job, at the right time and the right cost, organisation need a real time early warning system to make and implement business decisions.

Right-sizing and skilling your workforce can be made easier with the assistance of a workforce planning strategy.

SkillsDMC offers its Future Workforce Manager software package along with objective advice, free of charge, to enterprises in the resources and infrastructure sectors.
